I was born in Bucharest, Romania when it was still part of the dreary communist bloc, but at the age of 4, I moved to sunny San Diego, California. My summer babysitters were the airline stewardesses who ushered me to my Romanian family while my parents were still in the US working. Like any psychologically traumatic experience, this constant travel between continents obviously scarred me for life, and now I can’t seem to break the chain.
By the time I started college, I was already itching to get to my “year abroad,” and I gathered up all the extra high school AP credits I could to give me the minimum grade-level standing I needed to apply for the program. At 19, I made it to Lyon, France, and during that year, I spent most of my time not in the classroom but on a train (or bus, or plane) around Europe.
Before the end of college, I got itchy again, and felt the need to move to Argentina for the summer.
Then after college, my first job offer came from Gent, Belgium, where I lived for a year and a half. During that time, I made a handful of friends from all over the world from whom I learned a lot and with whom I have been lucky enough to travel to a few new countries.
Now I am settling down in another new place. I just moved to Amsterdam, Netherlands for a two year masters program.
For now, game paused, not over!

Draga Andreea,
Liviu
Salutari Liviu,
Hey Andreea! I saw your blog link on facebook and thought I would check it out. Looks great! That is such a great opportunity to do your masters in Amsterdam. I recently went back there and realized how great and livable of a city it is. Hope all is well!
Meredith (from Lyon)
Hey Meredith,
Really glad you decided to check us out and that you like the blog!
I saw that you were in Germany for a while – we’d love to have a guest post and/or photo from you if you’d like to send one (about that or anywhere else you’d like to share with our readers)!
I’ll definitely have my own Amsterdam posts once I start getting settled in and exploring. And btw if you’re ever in these parts again, you are welcome in Amsterdam!
Draga Andreea
